“One of Sweden’s most obscure psychedelic treasures from the late 1960’s. Imagine vintage Cream and Syd Barrett-led Pink Floyd morphing into a primeval Hawkwind sonic brain attack and you’re on the right track. They just may be the most impressive examples of vintage Swedish psychedelia you’re ever likely to hear. ”
Kramp was a band from Hallstahammar and Västerås (in the middle of Sweden) who started out in 1975 and played together until 1984. During those years the boys in the band jammed whenever they met but never released any records. Luckily some marvy unpolished and no-frills rehearsal space recordings from 1978, recorded on a small cassette player, survived and can be heard here in all their unpolished glory.
DIY cosmic disco from Sweden originally recorded and released as a privately pressed single in 1979. Here’s the liner notes from the original release.
SUMMER SHORES: Sit down in your favourite armchair and light your pipe (!?). When you’ve leaned back and made yourself comfortable. Enjoy this melodious hit on headphones (stereo) for 4 minutes and dream of our summer beaches, soon we’ll probably have none left…
THIS KINDA SHIT: When the weekend comes and you happen to be hit by the 1950s disco wave, I recommend that you invite your friends to a party. And when everyone is gathered and the mood is at its best, you flip the record a few times until the number 2 stares at you. Then you turn up the volume until you can’t hear the neighbours yelling:” this kinda shit”. Then fly away to an alien planet with the help of: This Kinda Shit.
With Nemo’s Theme, Sagor & Swing continues their journey through the dreamy. The song is inspired by Jules Verne’s classic novel about Captain Nemo – the lonely explorer who seeks freedom beneath the surface of the sea, beyond the laws and sorrows of the world. The music moves through the same landscape of contrasts: from fate-filled chords and dark underwater sounds to a quiet, almost peaceful resolution where Nemo seems to accept his fate aboard the Nautilus. Here, the beauty and the terror of the depths of the sea blend into an evocative, almost cinematic soundscape. The song was recorded during a tumultuous time in the composer’s life; Captain Nemo became a metaphor – a figure who both escapes and finds his destiny. Perhaps that is why Nemo’s Theme feels so personal: a quiet reflection on loss and reconciliation. Musically, the song is a bridge between the Nordic melancholy and the colourful splendour of psychedelic pop – a mix of Yellow Submarine and Strawberry Fields Forever. Sagor & Swing lets organs, synths and dreamlike melodies grow together into a fairy-tale world where time and space is suspended, and where the silence of the depths ultimately becomes a place of reconciliation and peace.

The first re-release of Shiho Yabuki’s “aesthetic music” album from Japan 1989. “Relax your mind to the fluctuating music”.
“Sound aesthetics with 1/F fluctuation (also known as pink noise). Aesthetic music is the transition of the four seasons. It reminds me of spring coming into summer, the relaxing autumn, the winter when you fall asleep, and the spring of new vitality again.
Traditionally, skin health was mainly an external approach. However, music therapy is effective in stabilizing the balance of the hormones. Therefore, The Cosmetics Headquarters Beauty Research Institute has proposed that aesthetic music including 1/f fluctuation, can be relaxing during aesthetic treatments. In addition, as a result of the analysis of music suitable and research on its physiological effects, Forest Land was produced.
In the process of studying various environmental music, attention was paid to the music of Shiho Yabuki, a synthesizer keyboard artist who combines the flexibility and tolerance of women. In 1987, the production a new music called aesthetic music was done jointly with Shiho. Her original songs were produced experimentally at the membership-based aesthetic salon “Salon de Este” in Rokuza. As a result of listening to 69 songs for more than two years and listening to different opinions about them, it was confirmed that these songs are essential elements of aesthetics.
The Forest Land album contains 10 original songs carefully selected from those 69 songs. You can feel at ease as if you were enwrapped into nature, and it can further enhance the effect of the aesthetics. Regarding the nature of the original songs on this album, it has been confirmed that 1/f fluctuations is included”.
