With Nemo’s Theme, Sagor & Swing continues their journey through the dreamy. The song is inspired by Jules Verne’s classic novel about Captain Nemo – the lonely explorer who seeks freedom beneath the surface of the sea, beyond the laws and sorrows of the world. The music moves through the same landscape of contrasts: from fate-filled chords and dark underwater sounds to a quiet, almost peaceful resolution where Nemo seems to accept his fate aboard the Nautilus. Here, the beauty and the terror of the depths of the sea blend into an evocative, almost cinematic soundscape. The song was recorded during a tumultuous time in the composer’s life; Captain Nemo became a metaphor – a figure who both escapes and finds his destiny.
