DARK STAR – Planet Earth (Le Vic LVR-33-201 US 1984) Vg+ 1900:-
Way rare (one of the rarest) and most importantly: fantastic west coast electro rap 12”. Like as usual I picked this up because I find a psychedelic streak in it. Disc has some marks that doesn’t really affect play. Plays very well. Side B label has two stickers.

FIRE, WATER, AIR / YA HO WA 13 – Golden Sunrise (Psycho UK 1982 re) M-/Vg+++ 999:-
Rare 1st vinyl release of an album that originally only came out as an 8-track (which is impossible to find). Totally mind-bending deep and freaky tripped out beyond the beyond psychedelic cult hippy jams to melt your mind.  Slight ringwear on the white front and back…which is kind of unavoidable on this record.

HOMER – Grown in the USA (Universal Recording Artists HS101 US 1970) Ex/Ex- 8500:-
Top of the heap rare Texas massive sneaky lysergic acid guitars, west coast harmonies and loads of glorious Mellotron. Psych and hard rock monster supreme.

Incredibly perfectly M copy of this way rare and mega obscure micro press Swedish femme folk psych album from 1973. Also features a nice cover of “Summertime” with some cool break beat drumming. Stand-out track for me is the stoned “Ni som vågar”

Total trip killer 60s exotic and psychedelic west coast psychy surf film soundtrack. Has promo stamp on back. Some ring wear ad seam splits but plays good and is one helluva enjoyable album.

PAT – I Want You (Purple Velvet Records PV 722 411 -701 US) 7” Ex 3500:-
One-of-a-kind and pretty much unknown and unheard even to this day. Heavy fuzz, full band and insanity going on that’s hard to describe. One of those special psych records.

This cool Swedish late 1960s – early 1970s Swedish private press has a fantastic surreal sleeve!

SEBASTIAN – Rays of the Sun (MCA  7001 Canada 1970) Vg+/Vg+ 800:-
Magic psych LP from Canada 1970. Like a Canadian Darius this guy’s got a voice. Full of trippy lysergic vibes. Wow! This record practically always comes with ringwear (even when still in shrink) and this copy is no exception. Also has a cut-out hole.

SEXY SOXY – Slow Very Slow (Columbia SP 1154 France 1981) Ex/Vg 1300:-
Big fave here! The cover certainly have an alure and the music is amazing catapulting this in to one of those late night records where anyone you spin it for just goes…woooow…groovy…far-out! Hypnotic downtempo groove, femme wordless vocals, turned on, psychy and very addictive! As this was a promo only release sent out to radio stations practically every copy has some cover damage. The cover on this one looks the part showing some aging, partial peel off at bottom sleeve plus large writings on front. Record is in EX condition and plays great.

SHIV & HARI – Yugal Bandi (Sonet SNTF655 UK 1974) Ex/Vg+++ 360:-
Here’s a fantastic missing link from the Swedish 1970s psych underground that is not so well known. Expert Indian musicians in Sweden recorded in 1973 by Silence Anders Lind in the Decibel Studio and produced by Keith Knox. The sound is totally psychedelic droning and no boring sitars at all. It somehow also has a “Swedish psych vibe” to my ears…even has a photo on the back of them riding the Stockholm subway.

BOB SMITH – The Visit (Kent KST-551 US 1970) M-/M-/Ex- 5900:-
Incredible US 1970 psych 2LP beauty. Full band, awesome songs, awesome full band including superb fuzz guitars and even some killer Mellotron passages. Comes with the super rare poster in perfect condition. Very slight but unavoidable ring wear on the gatefold cover.

Banana intact and unpeeled with just a tiny diagonal tear a bit down from the top, no piece is missing. Disc only has one superficial mark that doesn’t affect play. Comes with the original Verve inner sleeve. US West Coast original 1968 pressing

ROY WILLIAMS TRINITY – Good News in Town (Hillside  HIL LP 1016 UK 1978) Vg+/Vg++ 560:-
Laminated sleeve, transparent vinyl. M- copy but slight pressing defect makes one track have some hissing sounds. Their two LPs are the most sought-after UK lounge psych disco LPs and very rare. Truly amazing stuff. Full band with losta fuzz guitar, superb drums and vocals. Awesome sleeve…the works. You’ll never had such a trip in the hotel pub before.

TOM ZACHARIAS – Till Frukost (Private SW 1984) M-/Vg+ 650:-

Tom’s last release after the legendary Belinda albums. This one has gotten really rare and rarely turn up these days. The album features all female vocalists handling Tom’s lyrics. And in his usual good order we get to hear things like the legendary Swedish femme folk psych singer Turid utter unusual lyrics like “What diabolical desires…damn, how horny I am!”. Includes the lyric inner bag and a fantastic label design by non-other than Hans “Esse” Esselius. The album is quite a trip!

Teens exploring soul, funk and rock and this album is their interpretation of all three. Catchy tunes, plenty of effects and earnest vocals. Fantasy Train is one of the freshest sounds I’ve heard in many years of digging.  – Rich Haupt (Rockadelic) Cool teen rock meets DIY modern soul laden with psyched guitars, weird sci-fi effects, and alternate male/female vocals. BRUCE HAACK (Estste) (Sanders Recording US 196?) Vg 200:-
Provenance: I got this unknown acetate from Bruce Haacks own room when I visited the estate in the 1990s after he had passed away. The estate says it’s Bruce recording he did at a direct recording to dis service in the 1960s but I’m not sure. The one-sided acetate includes only solo piano. It’s a cool mystery disc anyhow.

PETER MICHAL HAMMEL – Organum (Kuckuk G 1986) M-/M 250:-
One of the top ten “new age music” albums. Hamel’s contemporary interpretation of the medieval musical concept known as “organum” involved an intricate interplay of modal melodies and opens up an amazing haunting and psychedelic musical world. JIGGERS – Story Time (Jiggers Story Hour US 196?) Vg/Vg 200:-
Plays and looks real fine. This record is insane and totally scary. On top of being an eerie Xian ventriloquist record it’s like it was actually made by some counterculture hippies. Surreal and went for like $100 in the early 1990s.

KANO – Runes (SUB-126-LP)  NEW 220:-
The first ever vinyl release Kano‘s Runes, originally released in 1986. A unique, dark and sparse, tribal, minimal synth, drone, trance, new age recording from the mysterious Kano. Previously only issued as an obscure cassette back in 1986 which is now much sought after. Runes is much darker, and brooding compared to its new age peers of the era. BOBBY MANKIN – Doomed By Dope (Rainbow 1968 US) M-/Vg+ 450:-
Cool and frightening private release of one Texas man’s struggles with the devil’s weed. Bobby Mankin is from Houston and his 1968 album tells quite a powerful story about involvement with drugs, pushers, and the law. And of course, his conversion to Christianity afterward. This rare LP is M-but due to a poor pressing it plays with a bit of crackle.

MECKI MARK MEN (Philips PY842560 SW 1967) Vg++/Ex- 2900:-
Fantastic and very very rare Swedish original 1967 pressing of this much underestimated psych rock/experimental masterpiece with Thomas Mera Gartz who joined Pärson Sound after this and there’s lots of stuff on this mind-blowing record that rivals that.  The disc has one mark side 2 that doesn’t affect play. The Swedish pressing is so damn rare and the few copies that turns up are usually trashed but this is a great keeper copy that will stay in your collection forever.

JIMMY MAWI – Black Dialogue 10” (Soundway UK re) M- 110:-
Perfect reissue on 10” of mega rare killer funky psych guitar excursion from Kenya 1970s.

ATTILIO MINEO: Man in Space with Sounds (SUB-081-LP) NEW 120:-
Recorded in 1951 but only released in conjunction with the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair as the musical accompaniment to the Bubbelator, a transparent, spherical elevator that carried as many as 150 passengers, Attilio Mineo’s Man in Space with Sounds remains one of the most foreboding and complex records in the cosmic exotica canon. A dark, dissonant exploration of interstellar travel rooted in the avant-garde ethos of Cage and Stockhausen, this is music that’s alien not only in its presentation but also in its orientation, fusing traditional instrumentation and sound effects to the point that one becomes indistinguishable from the other. Electronic elements pulse, hum, and sputter their way to complete domination of Mineo’s sonic palette, depicting a bleak, sterile future where mankind gives way to machinery.

AL MORGAN – A Lifetime Of Memories (K-Y Recordings US 197?) M-/M- Vg++  180:-
Very cool third eye lounge winner that can be had cheaply. Slight seam split.

SOUTHERN COMFORT (London SHK 8405 UK 1969) LP Ex+/Vg+ 2200:-
Genuine original 1st press of this unique album from 1969 with Martin Stone guitar charged long lysergic psych jammer. Has the original inner sleeve. Recorded when legendary Chicago blues harp player Walter ‘Shakey’ Horton visited the UK in 1968, Southern Comfort is a superb showcase for his talent, as well as those of bassist Jerome Arnold (Butterfield Blues Band), drummer Jessie C. Lewis (Otis Rush) and trailblazing guitarist Martin Stone (Savoy Brow and Mighty Baby). The album has part classy blues part zonked out experimental psych blues set, however, the epic closing track goes way further and is one of the most mind-blowing psychedelic workouts ever recorded. The disc is Ex+ with one small superficial mark that doesn’t affect play. Some spindles on the labels due to their fragile nature and the label side B has a very light ballpoint pen name tag. The sleeve also looks great and presentable apart from some minor blemishes and a name signature on the back cover having been erased so that it’s “whited” out.

TRÄD GRÄS OCH STENAR – Tack för kaffet (So Long) (Subliminal Sounds/Gåshud) 2LP NEW 190:-
The legendary piooners of transcendental psychedelic rock music and DIY culture in general. Tack för Kaffet is a tribute to founding members Torbjörn Abelli and Thomas Mera Gartz, both of whom contributed to the album before their deaths, and forms something of a farewell show for the old Träd, Gräs och Stenar, with all the old and new members — cofounder Bo Anders Persson, Abelli, Gartz, Jakob Sjöholm, Sigge Krantz, and Reine Fiske (Dungen, The Amazing) — playing and contributing. Recorded live to tape in the band’s countryside music workshop, these seven mind-melting improvisations travel beyond time and space and through the magical unknown, a manifestation of the timelessly organic music and free creation that has been a TGS hallmark since their formation in 1969.
