MADRIGAL (Subliminal Sounds SUB-115-LP) NEW
Green vinyl –limited edition 200 copies. 240:-
Black vinyl – limited edition 500 copies. 220:-
Our exclusive Record Store Day release coming out April 22 and now available for pre-order. A completely revised reissue of this much sought after psychedelic rarity. We can finally reveal the amazing background history of this unique record. The story is presented here for the first time in a deluxe 12-page booklet with an in-depth interview plus lots of never before seen photographs. The great-lost Grail’s of the NYC freak underground! Trading hands for $3-4000 on the rare occasions it is offered, Madrigal has grown into a legend among fans of psychedelic drone music. Here’s what Patrick wrote in the Acid Archives book: “…A rather amazing do-it-yourself descent into the murkiest depths of the early 1970s underground. It’s two guys sitting in what sounds like a boiler room, equipped with a drum machine, an electric guitar & bass and some oscillators, hotwiring themselves into the lysergic flow of the Now. The music drones and cavorts while incomprehensible screams and dialogue lurk in the background, as heard through a locked door. The atmosphere is as thick as in a nightmare…”. But Madrigal’s strongest achievement may be the seamless shift from the harrowing visions of machinery and faceless suffering on side 1 into a string of dark, haunting folk-rock numbers on side 2, a transition as natural as if these were simply the two sides of the same unclassifiable coin. Pioneering at the time and still unique today, vague parallels could be made to Suicide, the Patron Saints and Velvet Underground’s third LP, but first and last Madrigal can only be understood on its own”. Re-mastered for superior sound and presented here for the first time with the original artwork.

Vinyl 7″/12″

CATAMORANDS – Over You / Never Say Good-Bye (D.G.M.R 101 US 1966) Ex/G+ 380:-
Excellent and super moody and haunting 1966 garage. The “Over You” side is EX but the flip side has a scratch mark that you can feel and hear for a while but the record doesn’t skip or anything. Labels on both sides has a black X.

RANDY DEMOSS and the SPACE CITY GROUP – Is This For Real EP (Planet Records US 7?) Vg 1500:-
Totally mind-blowing loner psych with full band and Xian undertones that is completely unknown and undocumented as far as I know. Yeah this one really blows my mind and is a mighty grower deserving a top shelf spot for sure.

DR FUZZ – I’ll Be There At The End Of The World (Flippist US 1977) M- 1300:-
Extremely rare and obscure Minnesota private loner doom Armageddon psych killer. The flip side is by another obscure band; Haley And The Howlers, with a live recorded loose funky jam.

DUKE – Runaway Girl (Joy US 1975) Vg+ 650:-
Fantastic and super obscure one of a kind moody one-man-band psych private press wonderama. Even has an early twisted drum machine backing lifting it to Madrigal realms.

PENNY CILLIN – Boom Clap Music (Raunchy Records WG33-029-1US 1982) Ex 1300:-
Brilliant ultra rare minimal synth punk 7”. It’s totally delirious and must rank as one of the most demented record ever. This was also released as a split 45 a few years later but this is the unique one-sided release.

NORM PRINGLE and his ELECTRONIC MUSIC – The Final Voyage / The Meek Shall Inherit the Earth (Pringle Music 105 US 1965) G+ 260:-
Wow this is a real weird one for sure. Norm Pringle; US 1960s DJ and well-known recording engineer. This crazed self released mega trippy 45 from back in 1965 has a cool home-made feel to it with weird proto-electronic psych odyssey with pyschotronic style spoken words. ”The Final Voyage” describes an LSD Trip. It’s five minutes of over the top electronic psychedelia!  The Flip side is a Biblical style parable about the looming holocaust. The disc plays through perfectly but has some weird stains that cause surface noise.

DAVID SANTO – Rising Of Scorpio (Phoenix PH1 US 1968) Ex 800:-Bewitchingly beautiful US folk psych obscurity. This original US pressing pops up for sale very seldom.

FRED E. SCOTT – Journey Within / El Lobo (Natural Records US 197?) Vg+ 599:-
Killer rare early 1970s voodoo psych-synth private press 45 from Detroit.

Long out of print 12” reissue of amazing 1975 soul funk synth killer.

Vinyl LP’s

COB – Moyshe McStiff & The Tartan Lancers (Polydor 2383 161UK 1972) Ex+/Ex-  OFFERS
Holy grail alert! Ultimate UK folk psych monster here. The disc is in perfect and shiny Ex+ condition. The cover is also in perfect Ex- condition except for some whitening of the coners and seams.

FAIRPORT CONVENTION – Unhalfbricking (Island ILPS 9102 UK 1969) M-/Ex- 2100:-
Beautiful UK original 1st pressing of this stunning Folk rock Lp from 1969 on the Pink Island label, 1st pressing with the thick Island I on the label. Matrix Numbers – A1/B1. The disc is perfect M- and the sleeve is also in Excellent / Near MINT condition. The Front is Unlaminated and uncreased with the boxed Island logo. There is one small hardly noticeable ‘nick’/tiny tear at the top of the tree. The Spine is strong and unblemished and you can read it perfectly, The rear of the sleeve is Excellent / Near MINT with strong color and NO ring wear which is uncommon, one very small nick near to the spine. There is no writing and no creases.

MARY ANN HAY – DON KELLY – Hay, Kelly! (H.H. Enterprise US 196?) Ex/Vg+ 890:-
Really rare freaked out creepy real lounge LP Mary sings with awesome beyond the grave vocals over roller rink organ. Side two is all organ instrumentals by Kelly and it is surprisingly trippy and weird. The disc looks M- but is a very cheap pressing playing with surface noise. The cover has a slight seam split and slight damage on corners.

ERNESTO MANCINI QUARTET – Musical Souvenir (Private press1965) Vg++/Vg++ 590:-
One of the more unusual exotica releases. Super obscure “needle in the haystack” cruise ship band private press from 1965. Among other cool tracks they do an incredible and wild standout Tabu (Jungle Song) full of crazy jungle sounds and bird calls. It’s really like surreal drunk dream. Awesome sleeve too.

JOHN MICHAEL ROCH – With You In My Arms (Trisilgy IG-1001 US 1976) M-/Ex- OFFERS
Here’s an almost impossibly rare original pressing of this US private press psych pop masterpiece. . 100 copies were press of which were given away to family and friends. It was never sold or sent out for promo to radio stations or such so the chances of finding one out in the wild is practically impossible and the band doesn’t have any copies either. Slight seam split top and bottom at opening and a hardly noticeable letter in red on the back.

APRIL STEVENS – Teach Me Tiger! (Imperial IR 12055 US 1960) M-/M- 899:-
Fantastic M- copy still in shrink. For sexciting sultry femme vocal pop from the swinging early 1960s it doesn’t get much better than this. Every track a winner and a special treat is the amazing track ”Wait For Your Love” which catapults this album in to some sort of psychedelic realms as far as my ears go. A beauty and really rare in this condition.

This is the ultimate wildest Xian drug and gang related album ever. Extremely seedy fire and brimstone sermon that really tells it like it is. Will have you flip your lid as the true stories is so over the top extremely haunting and violent. Extra plus is the funeral type organ backing. Rare one too.

Neil YOUNG with CRAZY HORSE – Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere (Reprise RSLP 6349 UK 1969) Ex+/Vg++ 900:-
Rare original UK 1968 pressing with “Pop Series” 3-color steamboat label. There’s a reason the UK 1st pressings of US 60s LPs are so sought after. It’s not only snobbism. They are rare and the pressings are phenomenal with the best fidelity you can get on this records and usually what I prefer for my own collection rather than the original US pressing. The disc here is pretty much perfect. Then the cover was graded Ex+ when I got this but it’s definitely a bit less but still very nice. The front cover is very clean with just a few creases and whitening of corners and a lamination seam split on the top seam. The back has the paper stock turning a bit yellow, some tiny ballpoint pen writing lower right corner and a little tear on the lower cover flap. Sounds much worse than it actually looks.

BEACH BOYS – Pet Sounds (Capitol US N-16156) M-/Vg+++ 190:-
80s mono reissue that is now really desirable.

bonehead freaks

BONEHEAD FREAKS   (Belter A re) NEW 230:-
14 ferocius crunchers and visceral heavy thudders excavated from the doldrums of North American suburban wilderness. Belter Records is finally back under the ‘Bonehead’ banner, still crunching and ultimate, but no longer bound to any notion of a future series. Herein you will find an abundance of heavy psych monstrosities, numbskull shredders and dastardly inducements to follow Satan or in once instance, his direct opposite. It’s loud, proud and hopefully great fun to enjoy while you attempt to keep control of your bladder functions. Limited to 300 copies only.

STELVIO CIPRIANI- UST 7013 (Sonor I re) 370:-
A legendary jam, originally issued in Fonit Citra’s ‘International Hi-Fi’ series and composed by maestro Stelvio Cipriani. Probably written for some obscure movie, this infamous session from 1976 was recently discovered and immediately became a holy grail for DJ’s and collectors. Outstanding score vibes and several western and romantic movie themes in the vein of Ennio Morricone alternate with insane beats and spacey avant-garde. Shrink wrap is opened to remove disc when shipping as to not damage the sleeve. Small limited edition pressing.

ROBERTO DONATI – EATEN ALIVE O.S.T (Stella Edizioni I re) NEW 319:-
The original, at the time unreleased, soundtrack of Umberto Lenzi’s violent exploitation cannibal movie from 1980, which was -and still is- banned in most countries. This amazing score was produced and written by Italian composer Roberto Donati and Maria Fiamma Maglione. Limited edition on green vinyl. Shrink wrap is opened to remove disc when shipping as to not damage the sleeve.

Wow! here’s a double LP reissue of an outstanding, rare and classy Italian library rarity, originally released by the tiny Union label in 1971. Shrink wrap is opened to remove disc when shipping as to not damage the sleeve.

FABIO FRIZZI – Paura Nella Citta Dei Morti Viventi (Stella Edizioni I re) NEW 310:-
Original soundtrack of the zombie cult movie ‘Paura Nella Citta Dei Morti Viventi’ a.k.a. ‘City Of The Living Dead’ a.k.a. ‘The Gates Of Hell’ a.k.a. ‘Ein Zombie Hing Am Glockenseil’ from 1980, directed by Lucio Fulci. Small limited edition pressing.  Shrink wrap is opened to remove disc when shipping as to not damage the sleeve.

14 HIGH OCTANE AND FRENZIED TALES OF BOOZED UP HICKS, CHICKS, DROP OUTS AND SKUNKS SYPHONED FROM VARIOUS NORTH AMERICAN OIL DUMPS OF ILL-REPUTE’ – Belter Records (known from the ‘Bonehead Crunchers’ and ‘Ultimate Bonehead’ series) has been rampaging obscure nooks and crannies of North America to uncover a selection of frenetic screamers and high velocity tales of hellraising and beer swilling with fast driving stoners trying to catch even faster moving girls. If you can imagine a rockabilly outgrowth updated through a grinder operated by Keith Richards and Rob Tyner, you have an idea of what to expect. This LP merges rock’n’roll, late garage and budding proto punk in an endless orgy of high energy stupidity. The contents are mainly from the late ’60s and early ’70s. Limited to 300 copies only.

ERWINS ZOOM PARTY (HappyLuxPop G re) Ex/Ex-180:-
Very cool and long out of print of crazy Euro sexbeat compilation. Stunning picture disc limited edition 500 copies. Also includes the insert.

KINKS – Are The Village Green Preservation Society (Pye NSLP 18233 UK 1968) M-/Vg+ 199:-
Nice 80s re-press in gatefold sleeve just like the OG. Some tiny sticker residue tear on the front cover and slight ring wear on the back.

LOVIN’ SPOONFUL – The Best Of (Kama Sutra UK 1965) M-/Vg+++ 60:-
The previous owner has painted cool smiley faces on the band on the front cover and signed it discretely on the upper flap on the back.

Imagine, if you will, a foreboding homemade electro-acoustic, new age, synth driven, proto-techno, imaginary world music Portastudio soundtrack for a Polish-made animated fantasy based on a Finnish modern folk tale, composed in 1982 for German and Austrian TV by two politically driven post-punk theatre performers from a shared house in Leeds! To even the most perspicacious and adventurous of alternative music fans the genuine bloodline of this previously unreleased record already begins to sound like an entire record collection in one sitting. Shrink wrap is opened to remove disc when shipping as to not damage the sleeve.

Originally released as part of Fonit Cetra’s ‘International Hi-Fi’ series in 1973, this rare Italian library album, still unknown in the record collectors scene, features some of the most insane grooves ever recorded in Italy. Expect outstanding, spaced-out breakbeats with the best uptempo, hip-hop beats and B-boy funk tunes one can desire, alternating with easy listening sections and happy synthesizer themes. Small limited edition pressing.  Shrink wrap is opened to remove disc when shipping as to not damage the sleeve.
